#1. You have to realize why you need a resume. It may sound weird, but without understanding what you want to accomplish with your resume you won't be successful. When we say you have to know why you need it, we mean you have to know a specific position you are going to apply for. Creating a generic resume in no way will be effective as it will fail to present you as a good match for the specific position.
