Social Media. More and more people use social media in their job search. Career Coaching. Employers all the more try to find the perfect pit for the job openings they have. With that being said, pre-hire coaching will rise in the upcoming years. So considering pre-hire and skills development platforms should definitely become a place to go for those looking for a job. Such platforms help both employers and job seekers as they basically assist people develop skills and match employers to ready-to-work job seekers who will be able to start strong and bring value to the company.
Be Always Prepared. Sometimes you might get great job offers when you are not actively looking for a job. And you have to be prepared for (and open to) the opportunities that may arise. There is nothing wrong with thinking about changing jobs while you are still employed. Therefore, we recommend updating your resume from time to time as well as monitor the market of job openings. Many job seekers tent to make this mistake: they spend 45-60 mins to draft a resume and then send it out to as many job openings as they possibly can in hopes some employers will respond. However, such approach is unlikely will bring any results. Instead, we recommend focusing on networking efforts. Although it may seem that building relatioships and contacts will unlikely lead you to jobs but the truth of the matter is that they can lead you to employment more than any job opening online. When done right, it can help you obtain necessary information about job openings, referrals, leads, etc. It may not give you immediate results as you would expect from most popular job search tactics, but in the long run you can get offers you could never get with job search approch most people use.
