For those who are hunting for a job, has it ever crossed your minds why do you have to submit a resume before anything else? Maybe, almost all are pondering about this but what really is the purpose behind this practice? A resume is a way to sell yourself and to appeal to future employers why they should hire you. This is a document where your skills, strengths, and achievements are put into writing.

It cannot be denied that before, having good credentials is given more importance than writing skills. These days, good writing skills have become increasingly important because this can help you market your skills. But of course, you cannot do this without good credentials. In writing your own resume, the very key is to pique the interest of future employers and to prevent them from putting your resume in the trash. There are 3 fundamental principles in writing a resume that almost everybody does not apply. This is applicable to everybody but sad to say, most of us have no knowledge of this.

The first is having a degree of flexibility in your resume. You can't just use a single resume to apply for a different job. Even if you are applying for the same position, you need to possess different skills. But, it does not necessarily mean that there is a change in what employers are looking for in a particular applicant. A good example is the job description of a nurse. The nurse's job is fairly similar when it comes to caring for sick people, but if there is a specialization, it becomes quite different. There are skills of a psychiatric nurse that are not the same as a hemodialysis nurse.

A hint here is you have to follow a few revisions to be made in your resume without changing the content. The second step that is occasionally not applied is clear delivery. Although it may be done unintentionally, it can have drastic effects on landing a job. You have to state your personal goals, objectives, and qualifications with clarity. You must not over embellish especially if what you are applying for is a junior or middle position. You need to put your message across more clearly so that you will not leave more questions on the minds of the readers. In order for you to establish this, it is necessary that the points in your resume are not jumbled up.

The second step: You must accentuate these points and arrange it logically: core competencies; past working experiences arranged from most recent to oldest; a description of one core accomplishments that you have; and educational backgrounds and achievements. Major things that you should be mindful of are the typographical errors and spelling. Have your resume proofread at least twice, by yourself and someone else.

The third step is to explicitly convey what good the organization will get from hiring you. As mentioned earlier, a resume is a means of advertising and promoting yourself. To do this, you need to have an impact on your future employers. Simply stating your job titles will not land you a job. Since you are selling yourself, it is vital that you explain your skills by giving facts.

Thank you for the wonderful resume and layout. I am pleased with the work. My job search will kick into high gear in December so I will probably be using cover letter service then. Please add the gaduation date from Excel Technical college as 1998. Thank you so much.

Well written and it doesn't concentrate on the foodservice manager, a field I do not want to work in.

I wanted to let you know that I got the resume the very day you sent it out. My interview was scheduled for Tuesday and that same night, by 10 pm, I got an email from the principal informing me that the position was mine. The result was superquick!!! The job’s at the school I really wanted to be a part of. Thanks a million!!!

Thanks to your resume, I got calls from companies of a much higher caliber. It definitely beats the one I made for myself. Thanks!
