Happy Labor Day, America!

Honoring the achievements of the workers in the United States is a big thing in the country. The holiday is considered a great holiday held to recognize and remember the contribution of Americans to the prosperity and success of the nation. It is usually celebrated on the first Monday of September and many people across different states participate in all kind of fun festivals and parades while some even take a mini vacation to enjoy several days off with friends or loves ones. At Prime-Resume, we are happy to join and celebrate Labor Day together with all Americans. As Abraham Lincoln said, "Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed.". All America has as a country today is due to hard work of its people and we believe it is important to recognize this fact. As a resume writing company helping job seekers find jobs and progress, we would also like to provide some helpful recommendations as to how Americans can utilize their potential and build a successful career to further contribute to the prosperity of its nation.

A Few Career Tips To Help You Succeed

labor-day

First of all, you need to understand what you like doing. This may sound too obvious but as a matter of fact, we believe this is step number one to achieve career success. Everything about you is important: your traits, interests, hobbies, skills, etc. Before pursuing any kind of career, you have to know who you are. Otherwise, you will end up doing what you like and no matter how much money you will be earning you will unlikely call it a success. To fully utilize your talent, you have to challenge yourself every day to embark on things that play to your passions which should become your career aspirations. But this is only the beginning...

The next step would be to leave your comfort zone or at least to prepare yourself mentally for doing so. People who have managed to grow into famous leaders never stay within their comfort zone so should you be ready to say goodbye to things you have used to. New challenges is the first sign of growth and development. People who face the same challenges all the time will never be able to progress; they may be good workers who have a stable salary but achieving the big dreams will stay a lifetime dream. Just like the muscles grow when you apply a load of stress which is greater than your body had adapted to, so will your career be much more successful when you face challenges that are beyond your common workload. This basically means you have to go out of your comfort zone.

Be smart how you use your time. Time is the limited resource; we have only 24 hours a day and depending how we use this valuable resources we will either succeed or fail. The simple truth is you have to be selective as to what you do and when. It is obvious that you can't be everywhere and do everything in 24 hours. So learnt to pursue only those things that are worth the investment. At the same time, make sure you have some personal time too. You can't devote all of your time to work and career. There must be some time for self-reflection in order to be productive.

No matter where you work and what you have already achieved, don't stop learning. Self-development and self-education is a crucial factor in achieving career success. There is always something to learn the entire life is not enough to learn everything. The more you know, the more you are equipped to meet new challenges. The great idea is to find a personal mentor (specific to the industry you want to work in). This can help you significantly to objectively evaluate yourself and your business environment in general. Investing in yourself is never a bad idea, whether it is a mentor or education. Nobody is too old (or too young) to learn.

Never Too Late

Many people will think that the aforementioned tips will help those who are just starting out. But we believe that no matter where you are in your career journey now, you can stop and change things. We shouldn't be reluctant to change a career even if it seems too overwhelming. The principles listed above work fine in any industry if you take time and effort to adhere to them. After all, you are the driver of your success. It is up to you to decide what you want to be and how far you want to go in your journey.

Thank you for the wonderful resume and layout. I am pleased with the work. My job search will kick into high gear in December so I will probably be using cover letter service then. Please add the gaduation date from Excel Technical college as 1998. Thank you so much.

Well written and it doesn't concentrate on the foodservice manager, a field I do not want to work in.

I wanted to let you know that I got the resume the very day you sent it out. My interview was scheduled for Tuesday and that same night, by 10 pm, I got an email from the principal informing me that the position was mine. The result was superquick!!! The job’s at the school I really wanted to be a part of. Thanks a million!!!
